The latest January, 2017 Sacramento County sales numbers show a greater possibility for more sales and increased demand for homes in the coming year. Good news for sellers!

Note that the number of homes that have gone into escrow is growing fast. While the number of closings remain low, if there's a future increase in the inventory that means there will be more homes that can be sold. That could lead to a higher volume of sales (and usually prices too). We currently have a 1.3 month inventory as compared to only a 1 month inventory as of December, 2016.
